About

Built where the diaspora lives.

Coynitt is the money transfer app we couldn't find on the shelf — so we're building it, in Calgary, for the families we send money to back home.

Why Coynitt exists

Most remittance products treat sending money home like a luxury good. Five business days for a wire. Seven percent fees buried in an FX margin you can't see. A 1-800 number that won't tell you why your transfer is "in review" while your mom waits to pay rent.

We're the diaspora. We've sat through that voicemail. So we built something different.

What's different

Three load-bearing decisions, none of them cosmetic:

  • Funds handled with care. Coynitt is designed so customer funds are not used for lending or operating expenses. Transfers may still be delayed or reviewed when required for fraud prevention, sanctions screening, or AML obligations.
  • Modern settlement rails. Transfers measured in minutes, not days. The plumbing is invisible to you; the speed isn't.
  • Rounds and Harambee, transparent by design. The financial habits of home — Susu, Esusu, Chama, Pardner, Paluwagan — with every contribution visible to every member.

Where we are

Coynitt Canada Inc. is incorporated in Alberta. Our FINTRAC MSB registration is in review. Our smart contracts are deployed on testnet and undergoing independent audits ahead of public launch. We are currently in sandbox testing and will publish our registration number before opening public money transfer access.

Who we are

A small Calgary-based team with deep roots across the African diaspora. Engineering, design, compliance, and partnerships — built around the people we're building for.
